TENNIS DROP SHOT | How To Hit A Drop Shot – Tennis Evolution

The tennis drop shot is one of those shots that every player always wants to learn how to hit a drop shot.
A good drop shot requires great touch. The ball should bounce low and near the net, sometimes with underspin (or backspin). Backspin slows the ball and decreases the height of its bounce. As players hit with more power and more top spin the drop shot has become increasingly effective as a surprise variation.

The problem is that most players and coaches do not know the correct technique or do not know when to hit the tennis drop shot.

One of the big key techniques on the tennis drop shot is to get inside the ball.

Many players come onto my court and try to hit a tennis drop shot by hitting directly behind the ball.

I am here to tell you that is wrong.

You want to almost carve inside the ball on the tennis drop shot.

You will also want to keep the tip of your racquet pointed to the side as you hit the inside of the ball on the tennis drop shot.

The best time to use it is after a big shot.

Hitting the tennis drop shot after a serve, inside out or in forehand or a big shot that moves your opponent back is the main times to use a tennis drop shot.

Also hitting a inside out tennis drop is a very effective tool to have.
